Recognition of the private detective profession


Citizens of the EU and European Economic Area may conduct activities as private detectives on the Romanian territory, in with Law no. 329/2003, on the basis of a special empowerment issued by the company that they represent Citizens, members of the EU and European Economic Market make the proof of their qualifications with a certificate issued by the state of origin or residence.
 
Citizens, members of the EU and European Economic Area may run activities as a private detective in the following situations:
Following the recognition by the  Romanian General Police Inspectorate of the private detective certificate or a similar act issued in one of the EU or European Economic Market states, in compliance with Law nr. 200/2004 on the recognition of the diplomas and professional degrees by the Romanian authorities, or
   Passing an examination for getting the private detective certificate in compliance with art. 7 of the Law nr. 329/2003.
 
Citizens, members of the EU and European Economic Area shall make proof of meeting the condition provided by article 5, paragraph (1), letter c) of Law nr. 329/2003 with equivalent documents as those mentioned by article 6, paragraph (1), letter e) of Law nr. 329/2003 issued by the competent authorities of the states mentioned above.
 
The documents that certify the necessary professional experience as a private detective, in compliance with article 2, paragraph (3) and article 5, letter b) of Law nr. 329/2003, issued in a state member of the EU or European Economic Area are recognized by the Romanian General Police Inspectorate, in accordance with provisions of the Law nr. 200/2004.
 
The university or college degree, issued by foreign authorities, mentioned by article 2, paragraph (3) and article 5, letter b) of Law 329/2003 are to be recognized by the Romanian Ministry of Education and Research.
The recognition procedure is provided by the Minister’s of Interior Order no. 620/2005.
